An excellent photographer for your special day!!
When we were looking for a wedding photographer, we were blown away by Miguel’s fantastic work. We had some hesitation at first because we didn’t want the usual wedding photos with forced poses alongside the guests. But after looking at the portfolio on the website and on casamentos.pt, we saw a mix of casual and very intimate photos alongside group shots, which was exactly what we were looking for at the time. The experience of having Miguel and Marco photograph our wedding and engagement session was incredible, so much good mood and positive energy. Our connection with the Boris the Cat team’s work was instant, starting the moment we came across the quality, light, and natural editing of the photos in their portfolio. After meeting with Miguel, thanks to all the attention, dedication, technical insight, and friendliness he showed, we were completely sold and knew we had found the photographer for our big day!
And indeed, we couldn’t have made a better choice! Miguel, Manuel, and Cláudio were simply fantastic, full of good energy, always ready to help with various details, and possessing a unique ability to put us at ease. Miguel from Boris the Cat – Photography, alongside with his team, are simply amazing.
They are so creative and brilliant but at the same time so kind, nice and easy going that made our journey unforgettable. From the very start, we knew that finding the perfect photographer wouldn’t be easy.
We share a deep love for arts, especially photography, so we were seeking for something truly extraordinary but, at the same time, romantic and without making us look someone we aren’t. At the time we were planning our wedding we were living abroad from Portugal, so we had to base our search only on the internet. We saw countless photographers websites and none quite capturing our hearts. We were on the verge of hiring a photographer from our own country and bring him with us stretching our budget beyond limits. Then, fate intervened, introducing us to Miguel through our wedding planner’s recommendation. 
From our first talk by phone, a connection sparked, we arranged a zoom call and, at the end, Miguel thiked all our check boxes. We hired him in that same moment.
On our wedding day, Miguel and his team were always very cool, always present but at the same time very discreet. All our guests loved the way they were always fun and professional. On our couple photoshoot Miguel directed us perfectly, always very gentle, patient and making us relax with his refined sense of humor. In less than tow weeks after our wedding day, our photographs arrived, and we just couldn’t believe!!!

Rita + Pedro Sent on 09/22/2023 Magnificent service From the first contact with Miguel, we felt comfortable. Since we are not models or constantly in front of a camera, taking photos can be daunting. Not with Miguel. We met over Zoom first. We got to understand how he works. We hired him and in June we finally met face-to-face for the first time for a pre-wedding photo session in Sintra. Miguel guided us the whole time. Turn here, turn there. Miguel has a magnificent eye for detail. On the wedding day, Miguel brought two assistants: another photographer and a videographer. Super laid-back people, which in turn left us in peace. They worked like ‘flies on the wall’. They weren’t very obvious, but they were working in the background. Before we opened the dance floor, they pulled us aside to take photos alone and it was all very relaxed. Personally, I am very awkward when it comes to taking photos – “soft kiss”, Miguel would say hahaha. My husband and I always use that phrase now.

At first, when we didn’t know Miguel, we had some apprehension because a job like a wedding photo shoot is always a very personal and sensitive matter. We had the opportunity to do an initial engagement session on the island of Baleal, before the wedding, which allowed a first interaction with the Boris the Cat lenses and the feeling was immediately “We hit the jackpot!”. We started receiving the photos from the session before the wedding and it gave us a confidence boost that we needed to also be able to help the photographer and the videographer on the wedding day. More than understanding photography and everything that meant angles or specific details using the layout of the venue/ the church/ everything he had at his disposal, the pedagogical way and the experience (already spanning a few decades) that Miguel, even without realizing it, made a point of transmitting made us transcend and be very comfortable on our Big Day providing, from our point of view, memorable work and an “eternal” record as mentioned in the first paragraph. All the guests appreciated the photographic work, mentioning the ability to not interfere too much in the event and with a fantastic final output that moves us every time we remember it as well as friends and family. We loved the light, the photography style, the dynamics… everything. Then, still during the pandemic, we had a Zoom call: we cleared all our doubts and honestly, we ended up loving Miguel, very calm, super friendly, flexible and with very good energy. We didn’t hesitate then, the following week we booked one of the packs. We created a WhatsApp group where we posted details, addresses, etc! Initially, we wanted to opt only for photography without video, but halfway through the process we wanted to add the video and it was no problem at all, Miguel confirmed that it was possible and there was no stress. And so it was! On the wedding day there was coverage of all moments, the photographs turned out beautiful besides being quite a lot – a fact that many people, including brides and grooms from this year, commented on. One aspect that I loved was that on the day, when I was at home getting ready, Miguel was very independent; he wasn’t asking questions, he would take the dress and take photos, take the ring bearer box and take photos, etc… and that makes a difference because we feel that everything is being photographed and we don’t have to be constantly worried or paying attention on a day when we have to deal with so many details. I felt very relaxed and at peace with this team. They sent the photos 15 days after the wedding, which was very good, but while he was editing, he would send us one or two to keep us biting our nails and increasing our anxiety! This whole connection that is created is fantastic, and undoubtedly results in excellent professionalism. The final result did not meet expectations, it simply: exceeded them! The photographs turned out simply beautiful, there was an incredible selection of them and we ended up with countless memories of this day. Another very positive point that made us happy was the fact that we were unable, for personal reasons, to do the “engagement” session before the wedding and when we spoke to Miguel explaining if it could be on another day, Miguel was super chill about it, put us totally at ease and never put up any barriers! It is an important decision because the memory fades, but photographs are the records of the experiences that are etched forever. Boris the Cat, or Miguel to his friends, besides taking incredible photographs, is an excellent person and you can trust him with this challenge. Our wedding was a complicated task because it was a mix of a Western wedding with a Hindu wedding and Miguel crushed the challenge. He puts everyone completely at ease when they are in front of the lens. Even us, who are absolute statues when it comes to taking photos, looked like true Hollywood (or Bollywood, in this case) stars when we saw the result. Miguel has the ability to capture every moment. We recommend 1000% We met Boris the Cat at the wedding of some great friends of ours, and right away we loved the professionalism and naturalness with which Miguel works. When we found him, we saw that he had already photographed a known couple’s wedding and we really liked the photos. They were very elegant, with plenty of light and quite natural. As soon as we asked for a quote and availability for the day, besides the quick response, Miguel offered to schedule a meeting with us to explain everything about his photography. As soon as we met, we immediately decided that Miguel would be our photographer. Direct, clear, excellent professional, giving suggestions but always attentive to our requests. On the wedding day, he was super punctual, good mood and humor capable of getting laughs in moments of greater nervousness were always present. He was super available and overwhelmingly friendly for that “unplanned” and on-the-spot requested photo. The photographs show a fantastic job by Miguel! Both from the engagement session and the wedding day! This engagement session was fundamental for us to “get used” to the camera and Miguel, and to get to know each other better so that on the wedding day, everything flowed naturally. As for the wedding day, Miguel respected the moments and the photos were taken in the shortest possible time so that we could enjoy most of the day. This was our wish, since we didn’t want an exhausting session, where there was no room to enjoy the whole day, family and friends. As for the delivery of the online gallery, it was much faster than expected. We can say it was really very, very fast, not even a week had passed since our wedding day. As for the album that Miguel created for us, we can say that it was of fantastic quality, with great care and sensitivity and, above all, with fantastic photographs, full of light and natural! From the first moment we met Miguel, empathy and a great affinity were immediately established. Miguel organized a pre-engagement session that exceeded our expectations. Always attentive to the couple’s whims, always making us feel at ease, with many moments of laughter in between. The pre-session took place in the idyllic environment of the Sintra Mountains natural park, which contributed to the stunning final product. On our wedding day, we were completely at ease with him and received excellent feedback from all the guests.
